Players can communicate with other players in the game, as well as receive information from NPCs and other game information via the chat interface. The chat window is customizable by the player and functions as the primary means of communication in game.

Chat modeEdit

The player can control the chat mode by issuing various slash commands in the text input box:

  • /general or /s or /n: Changes to general chat mode. (Only nearby players can hear)
  • /whisper or /w: followed by a character's name, this sends a private message to that character.
  • /group: Changes to group/party chat mode. (Only members of the player's party can hear)
  • /force or /a: Changes to alliance chat mode. (Only members of the player's alliance can hear.
  • /alert: Changes to alert chat mode.
  • /legion: Changes to legion chat mode. (Only members of the player's legion can hear)
  • /shout: Changes to shout mode. (All players in the current region can hear)
  • /1: Changes to region channel chat mode.
  • /2: Changes to trade channel chat mode.
  • /3: Changes to looking for group channel chat mode.

General commandsEdit

In addition to chatting, the chat interface can be used to issue general commands:

  • /trade: Attempts to trade with the currently selected target.
  • /location or /loc: Displays the x, y, z coordinates of the player's current location.
  • /pathfinding [Name]: Displays a purple "X" on the map showing the location of the NPC named [Name].
  • /duel: Requests a duel with the currently selected target.
  • /time: Displays both the game time and real time.
  • /flight: Enters flight mode, if in a flight-enabled area.
  • /? or /h: Opens the help interface.
  • /checkentry: Lists the time remaining before being able to enter locked dungeon instances.
  • /checkgroupentry: Similar to /checkentry but does shows for the entire party.
  • /camp: Logs out.
  • /quit: Exits the game.
  • /played: Displays how long the character has been logged in for.
  • /petition: Opens a petition with a GM.
  • /cancelpetition: Cancels an open petition.

Social commandsEdit

These commands are used to keep track of friends or block others from communicating with you:

  • /who [Name]: Searches for [Name and displays online status.
  • /buddy [Name]: Adds [Name] to your buddy list.
  • /deletefriend [Name]: Removes [Name] from your buddy list.
  • /block [Name]: Prevents [Name] from sending private messages (whispers) to you.
  • /unblock [Name]: Unblocks a plater previously blocked using the /block command.

Group commandsEdit

These commands are used to manage groups and alliances:

  • /invite [Name]: Invites [Name] to join your party.
  • /invitetoforce [Name]: Invites [Name] to join your alliance.
  • /leave: Leaves the party or alliance you are currently in.
  • /kick [Name]: Kicks [Name] from the party or alliance.
  • /sign [#]: Places a target icon above the currently selected target's head.
  • /appoint [Name]: Appoints [Name] to be a vice captain in the alliance.
  • /ready: Asks everyone in the alliance if they are ready. (ie. to begin combat)

Legion commandsEdit

These commands are used to manage a legion:

  • /invitetolegion [Name]: Invites [Name] to join the legion.
  • /leavelegion: Leaves the current legion.
  • /kickfromlegion [Name]: Kicks [Name] from the legion.
  • /delegatebrigadegeneralauthority [Name]: Promotes [Name] to become the new leader of the legion. (there can only be one)
  • /gnotice: Displays the current legion message.
  • /centurion [Name]: Promotes [Name] to become a centurion.
  • /legionnaire [Name]: Promotes [Name] to become a legionnaire.

Loot distribution commandsEdit

These commands are used to control how loot is distributed within a group:

  • /roll [#] or /dice [#]: Rolls a number between 1 and #. Typically used to decide who will receive a piece of loot.
  • /groupsplit [#]: Splits # kinah between all members of the group.
  • /forcesplit [#]: Distributes [#] to every group member equally.
  • /free: All group members can loot freely.
  • /roundrobinloot or /inorder: Each player takes turns receiving loot.
  • /groupleaderloot or /captain: The group leader loots all loot.
